Florida allows a medical exemption that lets drivers with qualifying light-sensitive conditions install tint darker than the standard legal limits. You’ll need a signed certificate from a licensed Florida physician or optometrist stating you require sun protection, kept in the vehicle at all times. There’s no state VLT floor written into the exemption, but the

In Florida, some reflectivity is legal, but mirror and chrome tint are not. The law caps window film at 25% reflectivity on front side windows and 35% on rear side windows — highly reflective “mirror” or “chrome” finishes exceed those limits and are illegal. Fully reflective chrome tint is essentially never street-legal in Florida. The

Tinting just the two front windows typically costs $50–$150 in Florida — around $50–$80 for dyed film, $80–$120 for carbon, and $120–$150 for ceramic. It’s a popular add-on when a car already has factory-tinted rear glass but clear fronts. Just remember: Florida requires front side windows to be 28% VLT or lighter, so you can’t

The final invoice tracks directly with your specific vehicle size and type, selected window film type, and the shop’s execution standards. Understanding these pricing factors helps you

Residential and commercial window tinting share the same goals — heat rejection, UV protection, privacy, and energy savings — but differ in film engineering, glass type, installation logistics, regulations, and cost structure. Commercial films are built for larger spans and longer warranties; residential films are tuned for home comfort and aesthetics. We install both across

Window tint darkness is measured in VLT (Visible Light Transmission) — the lower the number, the darker the tint. 70% is nearly clear, 35% is moderately tinted, 20% is dark, and 5% is “limo” black. In Florida, sedans must stay at 28%+ on front sides while SUVs and trucks can go darker on the rear.
